The St. Mary's Class of 1959 held their 50-year reunion Oct. 30-31. Class members who are local residents began the week's festivities b attending the homecoming Mass Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the St. Mary's gym. The Mass honored the classes of 1959, 1984 and 1999.  

Josh Harper scored on a fly sweep on the first St. Mary's play from scrimmage, and the Rams lived up to their No. 1 seed on Friday with a 49-7 win over No. 16 Buhach Colony in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs at Sanguinetti Field. Harper scored three times, Marcus McDade threw three touchdown passes, and the St. Mary's defense kept the Thunder off the scoreboard until late in the third quarter. RUSSELL MILLER won a fish-filled St Mary's Rover with 24 whiting for 13lb 3oz. Fishing from the South Gare, he caught steadily throughout a match fished by 27 anglers with 24 of them weighing in. "They came regularly from the first cast to the last," said the winner.  

Sheri O'Connor and Pat and Julie Devaney know the meaning of anguish. O'Connor, of Oak Lawn, was just 16 when she learned she was pregnant. She worked through fear, denial, confusion and uncertainty before she made her decision to place her baby for adoption.

Alex Glover was named the team MVP of the St. Mary's boys soccer team Thursday night at its annual banquet at the Hilltop. Glover, who checked in at 104 points in his career at St. Mary's, was also named, along with fellow captain Rob Goggin, as the first two recipients of the St. Mary's Hall of Fame Award -- an honor established this year by new coach Mike D'Agostino.
